outfitted2sweater2Ok, so I think I did a bit better about taking a self portrait this time around. The trick is a makeshift tripod of old textbooks and movies. I actually wore this last week on my way to photograph an event for work, although in retrospect a dress and boots may not have been the best ensemble for chasing around children with a camera. As you can tell, I am currently super obsessed with my triangle sweater. I am also super obsessed with this necklace, I bought it off Etsy a while back, and I’ve returned to this woman’s store over and over again to stock my jewelry collection.

I’ve noticed that moving to New York has caused me to put a little more effort into my day to day style. Not saying when I lived in Minnesota I went out in sweatpants, but I’m also not not saying that. Since I’m a girl on a budget (and really, who isn’t) I’m training myself to work with what I have in my closet, and hoping blogging about it will help.  I forgot to take pictures this morning (and by forgot, I mean I slept through my alarm and had to book it to work) so the lighting is a little off since it was dark out by the time I got home. I was also sans a roommate, so I had to turn into a one women photo taking machine. It’s really hard to take good pictures of yourself!

My office is really casual, one of those places where if you put on a skirt people ask you whats going on. As a result I tend to try to dress down everything I wear, especially skirts. I got my chambray at Old Navy for like 15 dollars, and it works with everything. I’ve just started wearing it with skirts, and I have to say, I am a fan.
