There appears to be a theme developing in my last few posts, spring spring spring. I think I am extra excited because the land of my birth (Minnesota) is currently still in the 30’s and snowy, so sucks to be them.
I’m heading out to a destination wedding in Cancun for the 4th of July, and I am currently in the market for some new shades. I am currently leaning towards that peach number in the middle, but would love some opinions.
I’ve noticed that moving to New York has caused me to put a little more effort into my day to day style. Not saying when I lived in Minnesota I went out in sweatpants, but I’m also not not saying that. Since I’m a girl on a budget (and really, who isn’t) I’m training myself to work with what I have in my closet, and hoping blogging about it will help. I forgot to take pictures this morning (and by forgot, I mean I slept through my alarm and had to book it to work) so the lighting is a little off since it was dark out by the time I got home. I was also sans a roommate, so I had to turn into a one women photo taking machine. It’s really hard to take good pictures of yourself!
My office is really casual, one of those places where if you put on a skirt people ask you whats going on. As a result I tend to try to dress down everything I wear, especially skirts. I got my chambray at Old Navy for like 15 dollars, and it works with everything. I’ve just started wearing it with skirts, and I have to say, I am a fan.
Shirt} Old Navy
Skirt} Anthropologie (similar)
Necklace} Madewell (similar)

Guys, I have got a serious case of the winter blues. I’m not sure about everyone else, but here in New York I feel like the sun has been behaving like a moody teenager hiding in its room for weeks now. Everyday when I think I will finally get to see the sun again New York says “gotcha”, and runs away giggling. Much like that blind date you went on, winter in NYC just will not end.
As I sip my tea and foster a deeper relationship with my sweatshirts, I have been dreaming up how I want to beat the blues.

Should just about do it. Do you have any tips on getting around the cold induced doldrums?
